JSOVIT(MB): piazza bench

JSOVT(MB): piazza bench

Just to mix things up a bit, I thought I’d throw in another shot from the popular series Julia Sitting on Various Things (Mostly Benches). Since the more current photos are still on the MemoryStick, I’ll give you another one from the walk through Gubbio (Italy) this summer — I hope you don’t mind.

I don’t remember the name of this piazza, and the sign on the house is too degenerated to be legible, so this is just a piazza bench. When they’re in a good condition, these street signs are pretty neat — the chiseled-in-stone look goes well with the whole medieval thing they’ve got going there. Vogue would approve. Okay, maybe you can’t read them from 50 meters away like the high-contrast, sans-serif, ISO-certified German street signs, but then again, in a city this cramped and narrow, you don’t have to.

BTW, for those of you who noticed, even though the benches look very similar, it’s not the same piazza as in this shot, but in the same neighborhood…
