JSOVT(MB): ye olde office chair

After all these panoramas it’s time again for a good old JSOVT(MB), no? While I was restarting some important simulations at work this one weekend when they cut the power to the building and all the computers shut off, Julia was just a tiny a bit bored, which she showed vividly by assuming her trademarked

good-bye Gubbio sunrise panorama

Here’s another “easy” panorama (using the stitching software in cruise control). During our vacation in Italy I had meant to get up really early one of the days to shoot a sunrise panorama. I knew the sun was gonna come up over the hills on the eastern horizon, and the weather was just always nice.

Friedensbrücke panorama

Here’s another panorama from my long, long panorama queue. This was shot on the same day as this picture from JSOVT(MB), on our way back home on the other side of the Main, which led us over the Friedensbrücke. The weather was especially drab that afternoon (the morning was fine, you can just see the

Fernsehturm panorama

I haven’t posted a new panorama in a long while. Panoramas have become too easy, I guess. If you take some care when shooting (I usually don’t use a tripod), any mediocre stitching software can combine the pictures sufficiently well. It’s not a challenge anymore. Well, a couple of days ago I found my challenge.

chestnut

A chestnut. Found it in Brussels Park. I guess fall is here and winter is just around the corner. This summer was way too short anyway — just as the days are going to be for the next four months or so. Stupid days.

Colorspaces

Saint Catherine — one of the many churches in Brussels in a highly advanced state of decay. This one was within walking distance of our hotel for the conference, and there is really nothing noteworthy about it. This vertorama has been stitched together from two landscape shots. I used a different process this time, resulting

Gary Dourdan and me

CSOVT(MS): the Brussels edition

I took quite a few pictures of Cici Sitting On Various Things (Mostly Stairs) while we were in Brussels, and I don’t want to bore everyone to death with a never ending series of posts, so I combined the (subjectively) best of ‘em into this post… In the background you can see the building of

JSOVT(MB): mooring bollard at the Main

Julia’s not happy. Not only is she suffering from a cold — although a mild one — no, I dragged her out of the warm and comfortable house in this lousy weather to get some fresh air. Until about 10 minutes before we left the apartment that day, the sun was out and about, but

impressions of Brussels

Some more pictures from our trip to Brussels (if anyone asks, we were there for the conference). The top picture is a peephole in a door of a building at the Grand Place. The middle shot shows what a Brussels metro station looks like on a Sunday morning — quite deserted even though that particular
