Newport Beach sunset

At the beach that gave New­port Beach its name on our first day in Cal­i­for­nia. We barely had time to pick up the rental car, drive down to NB (which is almost 45 miles in what in LA is prob­a­bly called “light traf­fic”), drop our stuff off in the hotel, and walk to the beach

JSOVT(MB): airport lounge

Frank­furt air­port gate lounge, before 7am on a Sat­ur­day, wait­ing for our flight to Lon­don to be boarded. It’s not even dawn­ing yet out­side. This is how my con­fer­ence trip / Julia’s vaca­tion got under­way. We got up at half past 4 that day, if I remem­ber cor­rectly, to be at the air­port in time.
