DFT Cheat Sheet

Since I have so much to do with the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) – both recently and not so recently – I always wanted to make a sort of “cheat sheet” about it with the most important relations of the various time and frequency dimensions and some of the more important transform pairs all on one page. Finally got around to do this (and I had to sacrifice quite a bit of Dragon Age time for this). I wish I had had this four or five years ago – I cannot fathom how much time this would have saved me that I spent on thinking about various aspects of the DFT…

I’m hoping this might be useful for other folks out there as well (especially the MATLAB wizards), so I’m making it available for download. If you think there’s something wrong or missing, let me know in the comments and I’ll try to fix it.

Download the DFT Cheat Sheet.

If I find the time and motivation, I’m planning on doing something similar for the regular Fourier transform (probably without the images) and for some of the more important trigonometric identities, since I find myself looking this stuff up in Wikipedia all. the. time.
